░░░░░░░░ been leaning into when ░░░░░░░░ saw former President Trump ░░░░░░░░ on today that is ░░░░░░░░ rights He spoke of ░░░░░░░░ Danbury Institute today it ░░░░░░░░ an anti abortion rights ░░░░░░░░ Christian group that s ░░░░░░░░ abortion to child sacrifice ░░░░░░░░ you know this the ░░░░░░░░ day the Republican senators ░░░░░░░░ Cruz and Katie Britt ░░░░░░░░ a bill to protect ░░░░░░░░ access But that s ░░░░░░░░ few days after they ░░░░░░░░ legislation that would enshrine ░░░░░░░░ to contraception So Tam ░░░░░░░░ months out from the ░░░░░░░░ what is the Republican ░░░░░░░░ on reproductive rights KEITH ░░░░░░░░ it s complicated In ░░░░░░░░ that there s not ░░░░░░░░ cohesive position And that ░░░░░░░░ been a challenge going ░░░░░░░░ to when Dobbs was ░░░░░░░░ when Dobbs overturned Roe ░░░░░░░░ Wade There are more ░░░░░░░░ groups like the one ░░░░░░░░ former President Trump delivered ░░░░░░░░ video message to earlier ░░░░░░░░ that would want would ░░░░░░░░ to go as far ░░░░░░░░ you can go And ░░░░░░░░ then there are other ░░░░░░░░ who say Hey how ░░░░░░░░ a 15 week ban ░░░░░░░░ might be something that ░░░░░░░░ could sell to a ░░░░░░░░ range of Americans Former ░░░░░░░░ Trump himself is is ░░░░░░░░ trying to have it ░░░░░░░░ ways He he has ░░░░░░░░ that the Supreme Court ░░░░░░░░ it right that it ░░░░░░░░ be sent back to ░░░░░░░░ states And then he ░░░░░░░░ says that some of ░░░░░░░░ states maybe they ve ░░░░░░░░ too far But he ░░░░░░░░ t proactively say what ░░░░░░░░ wants because ah it ░░░░░░░░ up to the states ░░░░░░░░ I don t know ░░░░░░░░ long that will actually ░░░░░░░░ for him or if ░░░░░░░░ s even working for ░░░░░░░░ now but certainly it ░░░░░░░░ going to be an ░░░░░░░░ when it comes time ░░░░░░░░ this presidential debate in ░░░░░░░░ couple of weeks where ░░░░░░░░ candidates are going to ░░░░░░░░ to say where they ░░░░░░░░ and presumably get into ░░░░░░░░ detail And I know ░░░░░░░░ the Biden campaign wants ░░░░░░░░ to be an issue ░░░░░░░░ gets discussed in a ░░░░░░░░ NAWAZ Yeah What about ░░░░░░░░ Leigh Ann Is it ░░░░░░░░ for him Is it ░░░░░░░░ to the Democrats advantage ░░░░░░░░ CALDWELL Well Democrats think ░░░░░░░░ it s working to ░░░░░░░░ advantage You look at ░░░░░░░░ single election since 2022 ░░░░░░░░ Dobbs overturned Roe v ░░░░░░░░ and Democrats point to ░░░░░░░░ after win after win ░░░░░░░░ they credit abortion as ░░░░░░░░ And that s why ░░░░░░░░ the Senate this week ░░░░░░░░ at the Senate last ░░░░░░░░ you saw them put ░░░░░░░░ a contraception protection bill ░░░░░░░░ Republicans blocked this week ░░░░░░░░ re going to put ░░░░░░░░ an IVF protection bill ░░░░░░░░ we ll see where ░░░░░░░░ stand on this And ░░░░░░░░ Democrats it s not ░░░░░░░░ to shore up their ░░░░░░░░ there this effort but ░░░░░░░░ to reach those suburban ░░░░░░░░ voters that they think ░░░░░░░░ decide this election NAWAZ ░░░░░░░░ also saw this weekend ░░░░░░░░ pretty stark split screen ░░░░░░░░ between the two major ░░░░░░░░ candidates there Just take ░░░░░░░░ moment and remind folks ░░░░░░░░ President Biden speaking overseas ░░░░░░░░ was at a French ░░░░░░░░ for American soldiers killed ░░░░░░░░ World War I Here ░░░░░░░░ is Clip starts Biden ░░░░░░░░ idea that we re ░░░░░░░░ to avoid being engaged ░░░░░░░░ a major battles in ░░░░░░░░ is just not realistic ░░░░░░░░ s why it s ░░░░░░░░ important that we continue ░░░░░░░░ have always been there ░░░░░░░░ always be there They ░░░░░░░░ different people And the ░░░░░░░░ who stood in 110 ░░░░░░░░ weather to see that ░░░░░░░░ got what they came ░░░░░░░░ They got they got ░░░░░░░░ greatest hits They got ░░░░░░░░ surprising things that they ░░░░░░░░ t expecting as the ░░░░░░░░ went out which just ░░░░░░░░ it a little bit ░░░░░░░░ fun And that s ░░░░░░░░ they re there for wasn t just that ░░░░░░░░ was a bad weather ░░░░░░░░ but that he didn ░░░░░░░░ want to be there ░░░░░░░░ that he called over ░░░░░░░░ time period people who ░░░░░░░░ in war suckers and ░░░░░░░░ Biden never mentioned Trump ░░░░░░░░ talked about suckers and ░░░░░░░░ though he does all ░░░░░░░░ time in his political ░░░░░░░░ And although the the ░░░░░░░░ of what he said ░░░░░░░░ that trip was about ░░░░░░░░ away from isolationism embracing ░░░░░░░░ honoring the war dead ░░░░░░░░ was an implicit split ░░░░░░░░ with Trump It was ░░░░░░░░ was an effort by ░░░░░░░░ and his team to ░░░░░░░░ a contrast with his ░░░░░░░░ without saying his name ░░░░░░░░ Ann how do you ░░░░░░░░ at that split screen ░░░░░░░░ in a state like ░░░░░░░░ right which is a ░░░░░░░░ state we know Mr ░░░░░░░░ lost there twice Is ░░░░░░░░ it different this year ░░░░░░░░ So that split screen ░░░░░░░░ exactly what President Biden ░░░░░░░░ That is the ultimately ░░░░░░░░ his campaign is to ░░░░░░░░ voters that that is ░░░░░░░░ and that he is ░░░░░░░░ commander in chief that ░░░░░░░░ is the leader of ░░░░░░░░ country that does not ░░░░░░░░ that chaos As far ░░░░░░░░ Nevada is concerned yes ░░░░░░░░ Trump won that or ░░░░░░░░ that state twice But ░░░░░░░░ to polling if we ░░░░░░░░ polling right now Joe ░░░░░░░░ President Biden is far ░░░░░░░░ Donald Trump in that ░░░░░░░░ and so NAWAZ Polling ░░░░░░░░ a moment in time ░░░░░░░░ should say not predictive ░░░░░░░░ Yes absolutely So so ░░░░░░░░ that is why it ░░░░░░░░ a battleground state it ░░░░░░░░ essential for them depending ░░░░░░░░ their their strategies to ░░░░░░░░ the election But Donald ░░░░░░░░ knows he s also ░░░░░░░░ better right now among ░░░░░░░░ voters especially Hispanic men ░░░░░░░░ while he doesn t ░░░░░░░░ to win them he ░░░░░░░░ to do better than ░░░░░░░░ did in 2020 against ░░░░░░░░ Biden which is where ░░░░░░░░ only won about 30 ░░░░░░░░ percent And so that ░░░░░░░░ why Donald Trump is ░░░░░░░░ Nevada a very important ░░░░░░░░ NAWAZ You have made ░░░░░░░░ segue for me because ░░░░░░░░ want to point out ░░░░░░░░ crucial voting bloc of ░░░░░░░░ in a place like ░░░░░░░░ and others If you ░░░░░░░░ at the comparison between ░░░░░░░░ these two candidates did ░░░░░░░░ how they re doing ░░░░░░░░ rather compared back to ░░░░░░░░ you have seen a ░░░░░░░░ of support for President ░░░░░░░░ down some 13 points ░░░░░░░░ the same increase in ░░░░░░░░ for Mr Trump plan ░░░░░░░░ Ann how do you ░░░░░░░░ at that What is ░░░░░░░░ message that s resonating ░░░░░░░░ that s causing that ░░░░░░░░ for Mr Trump CALDWELL ░░░░░░░░ the the things that ░░░░░░░░ to be most resonating ░░░░░░░░ voters over and over ░░░░░░░░ the economy and the ░░░░░░░░ And those are the ░░░░░░░░ that voters have said ░░░░░░░░ to polling over and ░░░░░░░░ and over again that ░░░░░░░░ trust Republicans they trust ░░░░░░░░ Trump over President Biden ░░░░░░░░ those two issues And ░░░░░░░░ is where President Biden ░░░░░░░░ trying to make inroads ░░░░░░░░ that is why you ░░░░░░░░ this executive order last ░░░░░░░░ that that he is ░░░░░░░░ a lot of criticism ░░░░░░░░ the left that it ░░░░░░░░ far too strict that ░░░░░░░░ down the border for ░░░░░░░░ seekers if there s ░░░░░░░░ more than 2 500 ░░░░░░░░ over a specific amount ░░░░░░░░ time reach the border ░░░░░░░░ so President Biden is ░░░░░░░░ aware of this his ░░░░░░░░ is very aware of ░░░░░░░░ of this And that ░░░░░░░░ why they are trying ░░░░░░░░ highlight his economic achievements ░░░░░░░░ also make inroads on ░░░░░░░░ border NAWAZ Tam what ░░░░░░░░ the Biden plan to ░░░░░░░░ those voters KEITH They ░░░░░░░░ working on it they ░░░░░░░░ trying to reach those ░░░░░░░░ they are you know ░░░░░░░░ are targeting them with ░░░░░░░░ and they are launching ░░░░░░░░ Voters for Biden effort ░░░░░░░░ and all of the ░░░░░░░░ that you do when ░░░░░░░░ re running a campaign ░░░░░░░░ I mean I think ░░░░░░░░ what they would say ░░░░░░░░ we haven t run ░░░░░░░░ campaign yet we still ░░░░░░░░ five months But the ░░░░░░░░ are not good and ░░░░░░░░ good for for Biden ░░░░░░░░ terms of losing that ░░░░░░░░ And I think that ░░░░░░░░ is an increasing realization ░░░░░░░░ for for multiple election ░░░░░░░░ Democrats talked about demographics ░░░░░░░░ destiny Demographics aren t ░░░░░░░░ or at least it ░░░░░░░░ t the same demographics ░░░░░░░░ idea that black and ░░░░░░░░ voters are just automatically ░░░░░░░░ to vote overwhelmingly for ░░░░░░░░ Democrat may not be ░░░░░░░░ case this time And ░░░░░░░░ demographics are shifting so ░░░░░░░░ it s it s ░░░░░░░░ of a divide between ░░░░░░░░ class voters and college ░░░░░░░░ voters And and Trump ░░░░░░░░ doing much better with ░░░░░░░░ class voters NAWAZ Tamara ░░░░░░░░ Leigh Ann Caldwell great ░░░░░░░░ see you both Thank
