KAPLAN STAFF WRITER LAKEWOOD Two masked, armed men broke down the door of a town house and shot at one of the people fleeing from inside, police said. Police on Wednesday charged William Turner, 26, Ashley Avenue, with three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm following a Tuesday night incident at the Woodlake Manor town house community. Detective Cmdr.

James Step-hanick said Turner and another man, who was still being sought as of Thursday, kicked in the front door of a home at 298 Woodlake Manor Drive about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. While inside, William Turner assaulted Marcus Turner, 36, of River Avenue, one of five people in the home at the time. William Turner is not related to Marcus Turner, police said. Both intruders were masked, and one' of the people in the home said they heard one masked man say, "Let's kill 'em all," before dragging Marcus Turner out of the house, police said.

Stephanick said that while an altercation among the three men was taking place outside, one of the other occupants came outside and ran down the street, whereupon the two interlopers left Marcus Turner and chased after the man who was running, shooting at him twice but not hitting him and then leaving the scene in a car. Lakewood police would not divulge the circ*mstances leading to the arrest of William Turner. Municipal Court Judge Jerome Gertner set bail for Turner at $50,000 with no 10-percent option. Turner was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, where he remained Thursday afternoon. Detective John Marshall is in charge of the investigation.
